More about myself, more projects, more interesting stories, more everything. So, if this sounds good to you..Follow Me >>>> NEW BLOG
But I hope there will be many more in the future and I dont bore everyone to death =) So exercise that finger and click the link above..I'll see ya there!Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18246563915702565805noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6455300948036185331.post-27398359186291566342013-11-26T14:17:00.001-08:002013-11-26T14:20:38.546-08:00DIY Christmas pillowsHello all,
Welcome back.. and so soon!? =) I've got another simple project for you today to cozy up your house for the holidays.
I'm not sure why, but I've been in love with deer head silhouettes lately and had this and many other ideas in mind for Christmas..so you may see more of this guy later on.
First, you'll need to find a silhouette shape that you like. there are tons to choose from online and you can freehand some of them pretty easily or if you have a die cutting machine like I do that's even easier. For my design I chose the Glitz Design deer from their finnely line in the Silhouette store.. there are several other layers to him but I only used the base. I have the Silhouette SD machine so my max is 8.5x11" I stretched this guy as much as possible to fit my page and cut away on some regular old cardstock. Here is my template =)

Now, you'll measure out how big you want your pillow to be. I was using up scraps of material so it ended up being a rectangle instead of the usual square but, I really love that about it. Place your stencil on the fabric and be sure to put some cardboard or scrap papers behind the front panel so your paint doesn't bleed through to the back of the pillow. I used some removable adhesive to keep it in place and just used some regular acrylic paint I had. I'm not exactly sure if acrylic paint is the best for fabric or if it would hold up to a washing machine but the bottle says it's permanent on any porous surface.. works for me. I put on two coats, one in Apple Barrel-Barn Red and one in regular Red to get the color I wanted. You may have noticed I made a little boo boo so I decided to outline him in some glitter glue (stickles in platinum) to hide it a bit..it didn't totally cover it up but I'm ok with it.
Let that dry completely.

Now all we have to do it sew it up.. so for those of you who don't sew I'll give you a quick rundown of what I did. Flip your panels so the fronts are facing each other and line them up along the edge. Sew around the edges and leave a little room for yourself to get the stuffing inside. Before you flip it right side out cut a slit on the corners from the corner edge to the stitch (this will help make your corners pointy) then flip it, stuff and close up the pillow by hand stitching. (I really stink at hand stitching things and making it look nice so I usually make sure to leave this area at the bottom of the pillow so nobody knows ;))
And there ya have it. I made the green chevron one to add a little more color.

In case you didn't see my last youtube video update I'll share my quick update here. As of now this little blog of mine has been a pretty sad site with very sporadic posts and well..not a lot to say, so I've decided to shake things up and hopefully be posting here a lot more often and with lots of different content, from the occasional card to DIY home décor and on into my newest venture..Photography!

Ok so for today I have my first little DIY project to share. These little trees are so super easy and quick to put together. First I bought some paper mache cones from the craft store..you could also use Styrofoam cones and extend the top paper to make it pointy since most of them are chopped off at the top. And if you're really feelin crafty you could make your own cones out of thick paper.

The next step is to find an old book..I bought this one at the thrift store for about 15 cents. It is an old romance novel that happens to be titled "Deck the Halls" so it was perfect for Christmas =) Then all I did was hot glue the pages in all different directions and cut off any excess from the bottom and voila! You could spruce (pun intended) these up with glitter if you wanted but I like the more rustic look.
Thanks for stopping by and I'll be back soon with some more of my Christmas diy projects.
Im back again today with another Tiddly Inks image for ya! If you watch my videos you know Beach Babe Wryn is one of my absolute Favorite characters..so I just had to use her again. I have her as a clear stamp, but you can also find her as a digi in the shop! =) I colored her up with my Prisma pencils as usual and made a little scene behind her using Broken china distress ink and my fiskars cloud punch. For the papers, I pulled out my American crafts Shoreline paper from last year and used this sort-of shadow box technique that has become a favorite of mine. You can see it better in the 2nd photo. Well today's post is short and sweet but I hope you enjoyed and I'll see ya soon!
How was your Holiday!? Mine was busy spending time in the park with my jewelry booth and my hubby and boys. I spent about 5 hrs out there and got THE worst sunburn of my life on my back..YOWIE!! Thankfully my hubby was off and very helpful in lathering me up with Aloe and helping me out of bed in the mornings and going to the store since it hurts too bad to wear a bra haha.(sorry TMI) Now 3 days later Im finally able to move around without hurting too bad..but I think it's safe to say I learned my lesson about not wearing sunscreen lol.

Anywho.. I know Im a little late posting this..I made the video tutorial for this card before the holiday, but forgot to post it on the ol bloggity blog. But..better late than never right? This adorable image is by Tiddly Inks called Patriot Wryn, she is a digi stamp, the flag is blank so you can adjust it for your needs..how awesome is that! =) I used papers from WRMK Red,White and Blue line and the stars are from Papertrey Inks Seeing Stars die. Anywho..I hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend and I'll talk to ya soon! =)
Welcome back for card #2 of my Spring 2013 series. Its no secret that I LOVE color..and rainbows so for today's card I decided to dust off my heat gun and do some heat embossing, I'd forgotten how much fun it is! =) This card came together super quick, but you can see the process HERE.
I am finally back with card 2 in my Holiday Card Series. This last week was super crazy and kinda just slipped away from me,it may or may not have had to do with the beautiful snow we got, I'd almost forgotten what it is like to get a good amount of snow (5 inches or so) and wake up to the most beautiful view ever..I love Utah! This was the view out my scraproom window on Saturday. But Im back now and hope to keep up with this series much better now..aside from Thanksgiving comin up..3 cheers for an excuse to eat way more than I should =)
This card is another super simple one..Ive been making more and more easy cards lately and I cant decide if its a style change or just laziness lol. I think it is safe to say that the vision out my window greatly inspired this card. You can check out the video tutorial for this card HERE
Im back today to kick off my Holiday Card Series and I couldn't be more excited! Christmas cards are one of my favorite types to make..and today's card was tons of fun! In this series I wanted to do something a little out of the ordinary, while most of my cards include coloring a stamped image I really enjoy making more simple cards too (especially around the holidays) and wanted to incorporate those into the series also,so stay tuned for more word art, washi tape, embossing techniques and a few colored cards too! =)
This card was way different than my usual, not just because there was no coloring but I also didnt use any patterned paper (gasp!) But I have to say I really enjoy getting out of my comfort zone every now and then..and Im very happy with the result! You can find a list of supplies used and also see how this card came together HERE. Im going off the Halloween card subject for a bit to share a card I made for my parents, I wanted to send a few pics to them of my son's first day of Preschool, so I thought Id make a card while I was at it. I used the stamp "Beauregard's Pencil" from CC Designs, I just love this little guy,and it definitely makes me think of my little guy going to school. The sentiment is a stamp from the August Studio Calico Scrapbooking Kit and I used my PTI notebook die also.I used the Lawn Fawn Dewey Decimal 6x6 pad,I just got this and thought it was perfect for this image and that little book print is just too cute! Anywho, That's all I have for ya today..I hope to be back soon with a masculine b-day card! =) Thanks for stoppin by! Technically it means that Im tied with last year, but Ive got a few more ideas up my sleeve and a few more images that I'm dying (hehe) to use..so in my mind,Ive got it beat. =)
On a side note..Ive been playing around with my camera so I can take better photos of my cards, so hopefully today's card is better, and they will continue to get better as I go! Enjoy! Im back with card #3 in my 2012 Halloween Card Series. I just got the Sweet November "Boo's Fun" set the other day and couldn't wait to ink up these little ghosties. This little guy definately found the perfect pumpkin, but not sure if it was worth it..he looks a little spooked to be out so late in the woods, and with all those bats lurking in the trees, I don't blame him! You can watch me put this card together HERE. Thanks for stopping by,I will talk to ya soon! =)Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18246563915702565805noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6455300948036185331.post-84779123572306120102012-09-17T15:59:00.001-07:002012-09-17T16:13:48.636-07:00A little Favor...Hey guys,
Today I am going a little off the subject of card-making/crafting to ask a favor. Some of you may know that as a stay at home mom I make extra money by selling Scentsy. I have been a Scentsy consultant for 3+ years now and these last few months have been really hectic with relocating and selling our house and well not knowing anyone here..my Scentsy got put on the back burner and I didn't even realize that I was coming up on 3 months without selling anything..so this means my days as a Scentsy consultant will come to an end unless I make $150 in orders by the end of the month and umm..it's the 17th!!
I realize that with kids starting school and the holidays coming up it is a tough time to buy extras, but every little bit helps..and you get the benefit of delicious smelling products from Scentsy to make your house smell warm and inviting,we also have pur Hand Soaps/sanitizers (they make excellent teacher gifts) and our Scentsy Layers products are great gifts to have on hand for those times you need a quick gift or want to pamper yourself, we even have Scentsy Buddies for the kids' stocking stuffers! All Im asking is that you stop by my website and take a look around, if you feel compelled to buy something then awesome, and if not that's ok too..I really don't want to lose this position, and would appreciate any help I can get, Im completely desperate at this point.
So here is the link to my website..go check it out whether you already know and love Scentsy or this is the first you've heard of it..they really are amazing produts and make a huge difference in making your house a home and always smelling yummy for those unexpeccted guests..I will warn you hubby/son may think you are baking cookies and be a bit disappointed to find out it's just Scentsy but hey..what ccan ya do haha. Also..a quick tip.."Dominica" is THE perfect smell for Halloween if you happen to be having a party..and "Festival of Trees" is my hubby's favorite for Christmas/Winter. =) Thanks in advance and I'll be back soon with another Halloween card. Have a wonderful day!! =) CLICK HERE!Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18246563915702565805noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6455300948036185331.post-61304339074170020432012-09-13T11:18:00.000-07:002012-09-13T11:18:04.571-07:00The Return of Jojo the werewolf!Hi everyone,
Ive really been in the Halloween spirit lately -get it, "spirit" haha- anywho Ive been getting things ready for my annual Halloween Party and all that creativity has just spilled out into my card making so I thought it would be the perfect time to start my 2012 Halloween Card Series. I gotta tell ya I still feel pretty lame about that measly 4 card series last year lol..if you could even consider that a series. So let's just forget about that and get on with this year's cards shall we =)

For my first card I picked this absolutely adorable image called "Devilish Lucy" by CC Designs..she is certainly the cutest little devil Ive ever seen. I also used some of the new dies from CC Designs, the pumpkins (not mushrooms DH!) and the bats are both from them. The papers are a MME release from last year called Mischievous. You can watch how I put this little card together HERE

I hope you enjoyed and hopefully I can get a few more cards made this next week!

Toodles. =)

Long time no post, I know..things have been super busy with moving and all I just havent made time to post anything here. But to make up for it, today's post is packed full of goodness!

To start I have this super cute card to share with you. I am entering this card in the Tiddly Inks "Summer" challenge so I used the new Tiddly Inks Wryn clear stamp. Tiddlyinks has long been my favorite place for digis but recently started making clear stamps and I couldn't love them more.=) I also used the brand new MME The Sweetest Thing Tangerine line, these colors just scream the end of summer to me. I created the cloud background with a cloud diecut and distress ink as usual, the wave die is from Taylored Expressions and the sentiment is from Amy R's beach sentiments set.

Ok, now for the best part. After a million requests over the last few years I finally took the time to start a Prismacolor series to show you all my tricks and techniques of coloring images. With so many others using Copic markers these days there really aren't many tutorials using other mediums. I have uploaded 6 videos in the series so far and they actually feature the cutie I used in the card above! =) I do plan to add more tutorials to the series as time permits, but for now you can find them HERE. I hope they are helpful and enjoyable.
That's all I have for ya today, thanks for stopping by! Tata for now =)Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18246563915702565805noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6455300948036185331.post-76166550581582346492012-06-09T18:21:00.001-07:002012-06-09T18:22:33.428-07:00Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge

The Challenge was to use patterns..well Ive been dying to use this paper from Basic Grey Konnichiwa and thought this was the perfect time. I used the Paper Smooches "My Peeps" and "Hang Ups" sets to create this little scene. I also used my PTI cloud dies. It is a very CAS card and I think it came out pretty cute. The challenge only runs til tonight but there will be a new challenge posted soon so go check em out HERE Thanks for stoppin by!
Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18246563915702565805noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6455300948036185331.post-63300515203014439902012-06-09T09:20:00.003-07:002012-06-20T09:10:00.046-07:00Gorjuss TimeHey guys,
So..I needed a card for my hubby's Grandma for her 82nd Birthday this month..I thought this Gorjuss The White Rabbit stamp fit nicely with her cute little pocket watch. The numbers and sentiment are from Papertrey Ink. I also used my cuttlebug watch gears embossing folder for the background and some stormy sky distress ink to help it stand out a bit more.
Well, that's all Ive got for ya today..Im hoping to get some crafting done today so I may have more to share a bit later=) See ya!Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18246563915702565805noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6455300948036185331.post-64510573745770172142012-06-08T05:00:00.000-07:002012-06-08T05:00:15.334-07:00The Last Rose

Good Morning Guys! I've been on a real card-making kick since making all those fun cards for SN this last week. I got some of the new Gorjuss stamps yesterday and couldn't wait to start creating with them, so I inked up this one called "The Last Rose" first. I colored it very similar to the picture on the package cuz I love it so much, I masked her off and used my Pumice Stone/Stormy Sky distress inks for the background. I used some older MME papers from my stash but I cant remember the name of the collection sorry =(. I also used the CC Designs Fairwee Tiny Scallop and MFT Rolled Flower Dies and a little stickles here and there. Thats all Ive got for ya today..another Gorjuss card coming tomorrow =) Catch ya later!Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18246563915702565805noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6455300948036185331.post-31500197466236279872012-06-07T05:00:00.000-07:002012-06-07T05:00:09.719-07:00Sweet November Stamps- Preview Day 5Hey Guys,
Today is my last day as a Guest Gal for Sweet November Stamps..it's definitely a bitter sweet feeling. I am so honored to have been a part of SN for the last few days..and wanna say a HUGE Thank You to Amy for having me!
On a happier note..today is the day I get to show you some of the images Amy created with some suggestions from me..awhile back I had not- so - subtly mentioned in a video that she should make some 4th of July images..since there doesn't seem to be very many out on the market. When I said it I had no idea she would actually do it...so needless to say when I seen them I was pretty stoked! I plan to use these girls in a 4th of July printers tray for my home but I haven't gotten around to that just yet. I did make some cards for your viewing pleasure though =)

Meet Patriotic Pixies, Patti and Betsy. For the first card I used the October Afternoon Rocket Age papers and my Martha Stewart loopy punch..a little bit of twine and lots of glitter for the sparklers. The sentiment was created using the Lawn Fawn Sally's ABCs.
The Second One is much more simple..I used my Papertrey Ink block Alphabet Dies to cut out the "HELLO" and back it with more of that OA star paper. I tried to make it look like she was whizzing by on her super fast firework by adding some blue coloring/sparkle behind her..I think it worked pretty well. Ok guys Don't forget to go check out what Nancy, Marion and Amy created with these girls and go get your hands on these images at All That Scraps! Good Morning all..Today Ive got the last (but certainly not least) Tadpole from Sweet November Stamps to share with you..This is Tadpole Sunny..Im totally loving her shades! For this card I decided to pair her with her friend Tadpole Phoebe that I showed you on Preview Day 1. This design is a bit different than my usual..but Im really loving how it turned out! I used my Spellbinders Wonky Squares die and die cut several papers from the Echo park Splash line and some plain white sheets for spacing and just fanned them out and placed my image on top. The sentiment is from Amy R's Beach Sentiments and I used a few mini seashells and my Viva Decor pearl pen in Cream for embellishment. I don't know about you..but this card definitely has me itching for a day at the beach! Thanks for stopping by and don't forget..Nancy, Marion and Amy have more of Sunny to share with you!
